It is midnight. We establish the exterior of a beautiful bungalow with a luxurious sedan parked outside.
We move into a bedroom where, we show a middle aged couple about to go to sleep.
Both Baldev – 45 and his wife Pammi Sandhu – 40 are based in Chandigarh and leaving for their farm house in Ludhiana early in the morning as they have invited some of their other family & business friends for a weekend get together.
But something unforeseen happens that night, as three kidnappers, two men & a woman barge into their bedroom and kidnap this couple, blind folding them and taking them to the store room in the same house.
When blind folds are removed, Baldev & Pammi get a shock of their lives as we reveal that the three kidnappers are none other than their own 45 year old driver Shamsher, 35 year old lady cook – Rano and 25 year old house cleaner – Bittu.
Baldev goes wild as he screams at them to release them but surprisingly for both the couple Shamsher & Bittu are equally aggressive and wild at them as they demand their last 6 month’s salaries. Rano is firm too but a little bit soft as well, as she had agreed to kidnap them after lots of compulsion by both Shamsher & Bittu.
The servants are demanding their past salaries as well as salaries for the next 3 months as they have to look for a new job, which might take a few months. So in total their demand is of Rupees Three lakhs & Fifteen Thousand only.
Baldev is a builder but is going through a financial crunch because of no buyers in the market since past two years. The financial mess he is in, was not shared by him with his family, hence this situation has developed.
For his family and his servants, everything seemed to be normal, but in fact he was somehow managing expenses.
Little bit of frustrations that we show of his wife Pammi is also because of the limitations she had in her expenditures since past two years.
Further tension develops when their one and only daughter Simran, who is 18 and is completing her further studies in Jullundur, starts calling incessantly on their mobiles as she usually spends her weekend with both of them in Chandigarh.
When she is unable to get through to them, she calls their neighbor – Rashpal, who goes to their house and meets Bittu & Baldev in the drawing room as Pammi is kept on gun point in the store room by Shamsher.
Everything seems to be normal for Rashpal, which he conveys to Simran. But when Simran tells him, that why aren’t they taking her calls? To this Rashpal says that he too didn’t understand as they said their phones are working but he also said that your Dad was asking me for about 3 to 4 lakhs if I have, to give him urgently.
Simran’s confused & arrives joining them as usual for the weekend. But she too is kidnapped & held by the servants.
The kidnappers have taken their mobiles and gradually we see that when they get calls, they all are made to talk on the speaker phone which in turn reveals very interesting & shocking things as each one had hidden many facts from the other family members.
These revelations are hilarious as well as shocking too.
The kidnappers sympathize as they understand the facts of these rich people and everything seems to settle down amicably after Simran manages to take the gun and takes them at the gun point.
At the same moment, Rashpal, the neighbor too barges in with the Police as he was sensing some trouble from the moment he had come and spoken to Baldev in front of Bittu.
Baldev confronts the Police Officer telling him that everything is normal and that he just wanted to stay aloof from everyone for a couple of days, as he wanted a break from his work.
Once the Police leave, Pammi removes her Cheque book and signs a Cheque of Rupees One lakh throwing it at Shamsher and says, I have this One Lakh only which I had kept for emergency, you all can take this and go away and I will call you again to take the rest.
Shamsher says, that means you are throwing us out of this house and removing us from the job???
Pammi says who will keep kidnappers in their house as their servants???
Rano says that it was our pressure and helplessness that we had to do this because of our families.
Baldev says, why didn’t you all share your problems earlier while asking for the salaries???
Bittu says, did you share your problems with us when we asked the salaries???
Thus it is beautifully conveyed through this story that, servants too are human and they should be treated like family members. They too have a heart and can understand their employers.
It all ends well with the above message for the employers as well as the servants to keep complete transparency and trust amongst themselves.
